Growth u/s question.....

Does everyone get one? if not, how do they determine who does?

I have an appt friday and since im going to be 26 weeks, i really want to start talking about these kinds of things...there is a serious family history of big babies (9-10 pounds) on both sides of the family. And i have concerns b/c my mom's first died a day after birth due to brain damage b/c the birth canal was too narrow. my sister and i were then c-sections.  Obviously, i will ask questions friday, but since someone just mentioned them, i figured i would ask

There are many reasons a dr would schedule a growth u/s.  If your fundal height seems to be off from when they measure based on the age of gestation or if you have tremendous growth from one appt to the next are some reasons.

I had one this week because I was measuring 3 weeks ahead. If I wasn't, I wouldn't have had one.

Typically they will only order one if your fundal?height?measurements are off of if you have something like GD that would crazy growth or lack thereof.
