Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Anyone else have a non-crawling, toothless wonder? :)

He's definitely not immobile, but right now Colin just rolls everywhere. He can scoot backwards sometimes too, but hasn't gone forward yet. He'll reach for a toy and cry if he can't get it. It's so pathetic, lol.

He also keeps faking me out about teething. He'll drool everywhere and soak his shirt, and I'll think, "this is it!" and then nothing. I wonder if he'll make it until 1 without a tooth? ha! It's okay, though. I can live with his cute gummy smile as long as he wants to keep it.

  • I'm in the same boat. My daughter can turn from tummy to back and vice versa. She cant crawl but she goes in circles...looks funny, kind of like a do chasing his tail. And she too is also toothless, but the dentist says it's a good thing because it will keep the teeth from decaying if you give juices, certain fruits, etc. The gums are protecting those precious teeth. I am no hurry for her teeth to come in, I love her toothless smile.

  • LOL, I have two! Neither one of my girls are crawling and no teeth for either of them yet :( I thought I was the only one.

  • My kid has teeth, but he does't roll, scoot, or crawl. He can sit up just fine. He's starting to rock forward and get up on his knees a little, but it's like he gets scared and sits back down. The pedi said it was fine and he'll probably be crawling in no time.

  • yep! Although today, rather than faceplant after getting on all fours, she put one hand out, then her knee.. then the other.. THEN she faceplanted. So I'm not sure to count that or not...

Abby's drooling like a monster and her nose is running and she's literally gnawing on her hands. or anything she can get into her mouth so I'm thinking a tooth is coming in.. who knows....

That's a good way to look at it!

Colin can turn in circles too, lol. It's so funny to watch!

  • I'd like to add that my H thought it was a good idea to "help" Shi try to go from an "I want to crawl" position to a seated position by tucking her legs under her, and managed to throw her weight forward so fast she face planted and got a bump on her head.  I wasn't happy.
  • Same here! Although DS does this thing where I put him on the floor, turn around for half a second, and when I look back again, he's on the other side of the room with the cabinet open. He scoots backwards and he awkwardly flops around, but no crawling yet.
  • Yup! Ds is very motivated to get his toys and will somehow manage to get to where he wants to go through a combination of rolling and squirming, but no crawling yet. I suspect he will army crawl and not crawl on all 4s. We also thought he was teething like 5 different times now, but no teeth yet!

  • Non-crawling, toothless, absolutely radiant chunky beam of sunshine! Yep I have one. I am excited she's a Mommy's Girl! I love it.

  • My DD isn't crawling altho she does the worm so she can get where she needs to go.  It's pretty funny, altho definitely not as efficient as crawling.  When she's really excited to go somewhere, she slams both hands down onto the floor and starts to go.

And no teeth here, either.  I didn't get my first tooth until 13 months, tho, so she may be late on the dental front.  So for all of you that have LOs without teeth, aren't you tired of everyone telling you they're teething when you say they've had a bad night or are cranky?  True, occasionally I suspect it, too, but I'm so over everyone telling me she's teething because she's not!

  • We've nicknamed Cate a "Toothless, no-sitter." ;-)

Ummmmmm.....and yes I HAVE had my baby - I think I have to commit bump sui - and reincarnate myself as someone with appropriate tickers

LOL, well that's good news. I can't imagine being 70 weeks pregnant. Wink

Or, could you delete all the HTML from your sig and use a ticker from tickerfactory or lilypie?

Mine won't even roll to get around!  No teeth, no crawling, but he is close on the crawling front.  He goes from sitting to hands/knees but then collapses onto his belly.

It's okay, your son is 2 months younger than mine ;) When Colin was his age, he was doing the same thing!
