Cloth Diapering

Prefold and cover alternative for diaper

I am planning on using prefolds and covers/wraps at home for our newborn until whenever we switch to probably a pocket design.  I was telling a friend about this and she was concerned that my daycare/babysitter/etc would not want to fuss with this.  Anyone have recommendations for CDs for newborns that are easy for daycare, babysitters, etc?  Right now I have thirsties duo wraps and GMD prefolds.  TIA!

  • Well, I don't have a daycare issue, but I *do* have a husband issue, so I bought a bunch of fitteds (need a cover) and AIO's for DH to use. He does not want to fuss with the prefolds. I'm OK with that since I'll be home all day and will use the prefolds and covers - he can use the others since they're more in line with a disposable which he's used to. I think something like this would be easiest for daycare.

  • How soon will you be going back to work? The reason I ask is many babies will fit in OS pockets by 3 months, so you likely won't need to worry about daycare and a newborn stash if you're taking 12 weeks of maternity leave.

My mom is my daycare, and she uses AI2's when she has the girls.

TTC#1 since Mar 2008. Serious MFI due to cancer. 3 cancelled IUI's, just about every test in the book. IVF#1 - BFP! Twin girls arrived 2/5/10 at 35w2d. Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

I will go back to work at about 11 or 12 weeks, so you're right, maybe I won't have to worry about that too much.  And our parents or whoever else might have to change the diaper will just have to deal :)  Thanks for the replies!
