I had some flutters every once in a while, still haven't got that first strong kick we all long for. Lately tho I noticed I haven't got any more flutters or anything like that. I had my scan for DS, and other birth defects, we saw the baby move very actively, the heartbeat was 160 beats per minute.
I was wondering, if something has
happened to the baby would I know it? Would I bleed or cramp or
something to indicate there is a problem? If the baby's heart just
stopped, would it cause me to bleed or somehow know? Gosh I am a little
nervous and can only see my doctor in 2 weeks ![]()
Having 1 missed miscarrage already makes me a little weary.
Thanks for any responses, really need some, please.
Re: If something went wrong....?
You can't let yourself go down this path...it's the same thing as thinking, "if DH was in a car accident right now, would I know it" or "if I stopped breathing in the middle of the night, would I be ok"...there are so many worst-case scenarios, and now is not the time to humor them. Just assume everything is perfect, because it very likely is. To say that most babies are born every daily, healthy and happy, would be an understatement.
You're only 15 weeks! That is still early to feel anything major-- I didn't feel big kicks from my first son until 23 weeks or so. They say it won't be consistent until 28 weeks, so you have PLENTY of time for that.
Pregnancy is a game of patience, and you just have to do your best to know it will all turn out perfectly. You're in the hardest period right now, when you don't necessarily feel every kick, you just have to assume it's all fine.
i agree with opp on the "would i know" situation, you just wouldn't, sorry to say. it is mindnumbingly awful to think about- so just don't. it's out of your control and all you can do is enjoy what you have.
as far as movement, i've felt regular movement since 13wk. everyone is different. even though i was feeling regular movement, i could never feel the movement i was seeing on the screen at my u/s's. you have TONS of room in there still, even when LO is kicking up a storm, you have a slim chance of feeling it. LO would have to be in a position just right for you to feel it- and you'll start to notice in these early weeks, you are only feeling movement in the anterior of your uterus.
Eventually you will have worried so many times you'll stop worrying unless the doctor tells you to. At least that's what happened to me. I even still have dreams about bleeding out even though i have no real fear of it- it's just still up there in my head.
