Babies: 6 - 9 Months

I will judge you if you are this mom

I took the boys to soccer practice last night.  I sat by a lady who was there with her 8 month old son.  Who was eating a bag of cheetos.  A whole bag.  Just holding the bag, eating the cheetos.  She gave them to him so she could go smoke and he would be entertained.  She also pointed out to me that if I buy the Baby Einstein videos it will entertain Kelsy for hours.  All I need to do is put it on repeat so it plays over and over and then I don't have to worry about her.  Hmmmm.  Fail.

Re: I will judge you if you are this mom

  • Wow. I play Your Baby Can Read for Emma but we practice signing the words, she dances to the music and I 'quiz' her over the material when the show is playing. Now, I will step away to switch the laundry and bring it to the couch to fold but I damn sure don't put that shiz on auto repeat and walk away for hours on end.

    Cheetos? For realz?

  • Loading the player...
  • Total mom fail, she could have at least given him some soda to go with the Cheetos.

Also, that makes me really sad for that little guy. I think it is unfair for parents to put their unhealthy habits on their kids (or baby, in this case).

  • Snack bag of cheetos = $1.25

Family size box of cheerios = $2.50

It costs a lot of money to look that klassy.

  • I would side eye all of the stuff in the OP. Wow. Cheetos?!? Sure, I gave my guys a little bit of squashed tater tots last night but cheetos?!

Okay, I admit, I just got Baby Einstein Baby Beethoven and played it for the guys yesterday. They loved it! But I had James on my lap while we watched and "Talked" about it. I can't imagine just plopping them down in front of the TV for hours. Baby Einstein is pretty awesome as a starting part for learning. But learning isn't going to happen just sitting there.

    I freaking love tater tots.

  • I can't do smilies on my phone, but please see the following depictions of my mouth while I read that story. It's a progression.

  • To clarify, I do let Kels watch cartoons.  Not even educational ones.  But not just so I don't have to bother with her.  She will watch Disney Junior while I shower, for example.  But not on a daily basis, and usually when I do have cartoons on I will come grab her as soon as I'm done with whatever I needed to do and we will dance to the little songs together or something.  I can't imagine sticking her in front of it for hours on end though.

  • Personally my fav is flamin' hot cheetos with lime....

maybe I should give C some Stick out tongue

I do let C watch "Word World" on PBS in the morning so I can make coffee plus word world is pretty flippin awesome!

I was leaving dillard yesterday and saw a lady put her newborn in the car, she got in lit a cig and drove away Indifferent Now if your gonna smoke fine, but why can't you smoke outside the car??

  • Don't judge me. I like cheetos. Did she lick her fingers before she smoked her cigarette or did she waste all of that cheesy goodness? I picture finger shaped cheese smears all over her thighs.

We had turkey sloppy joes and tater tots. The guys loved it! It was awesome. :)

Yes, I fed them creamed peas and spinach first. So they had some nutrition.

  • I love Cheetos. I refuse to share them so K will have to wait until she can buy them herself before she tastes their deliciousness.

She watches Baby signing time but I sit with her and we do the signs together. Ok, I do the signs and attempt to get her to do them. So far no luck.

    Major mom fail.

THIS. My kid loves the dam hot dog song...she can careless for anything else, but as soon as she hears it, her eyes are glued to the screen. I have it downloaded on my phone and I will play it randomly and she looks for the tv

  • Wow, I actually feel sorry for that baby. That reminds me, yesterday I was checking out at Joann's and the cashier and I were chatting about my kids, she said that Grace looked heavy, I said that she was heavy and around 19-20 pounds, then she told me that her daughter weighed 36 pounds at six months!!!! I asked her how that was even possible, and she just said that her daughter loved to eat and she loved to feed her, I didn't even think about what she might have been feeding her until later.
