Question about progesterone suppositories (TMI)

For those that have been on progesterone suppositories, I'm wondering if they gave off a really foul odor in your discharge. For a while I've noticed a really foul odor and assumed it was the suppositories but now I'm starting to wonder if maybe I have an infection. I've never had such an odor come from my cervical mucus before so I just don't know...

I took the oral form so Im not gonna be much help, but the oral did make my pee smell funky. Did you ask a nurse girl? Id ask asap just in case, they should know if it's a side effect or not. Infection is definitely not something you want to mess with right now! But I assume if it can make your pee stink when you take it orally itd probably be pretty normal for it to make your discharge stink.

When I was on them in first trimester, I had all sorts of weird, gross looking discharge. I don't remember there being that much of an odor to it, so maybe you should ask the doctor just to be safe.

I have been on Prometrium until I hit 10 weeks and I took them vaginally. They did increase my discharge a lot (yellowish), but it never smelled like you say. I would ask a dr. and see if they can check you for an infection/yeast infection! Let us know!

I had asked a couple nurses and got different responses--yes it does smell, no it shouldn't smell. So I asked my doctor when she came in this morning and she took a swab to check for infection. I'll find out today probably if she finds anything.

Oh good! Well Im glad you asked about it. Hopefully it's just a normal reaction for your body. If not at least you caught it!
