First question- CA Baby is a "safe" cream even though it contains zinc correct?
Second Question- If using a fleece liner when using an "unsafe" cream, how do you wash the liners? So you can't wash them with the diapers since they have the cream on them right? But there is poop on them so you don't want to wash it with the regular laundry. . . so do you do a separate tiny load or what? Thanks!
Re: Liners and Rash Cream?
If a fleece liner gets poop on it, I will swish it in the toilet to get the chunks and everything off, and then wash with regular laundry.
As a general rule, most cloth diaperers will not use creams with zinc oxide. Many cloth diaperers, however, in the same breath, recommend California Baby. California Baby DOES in fact have zinc in it. Most people who use this cream often do not have any issues with it at all. I feel like it's any other cloth diaper accessory. Some items, people have issues with. Some people use the same item and have no problems. You will get recommendations for one product, and then other people telling you it's the worst thing you could use. If I were to use a cream with zinc oxide, I would use a diaper liner. It creates a barrier just in case. Better safe than sorry I suppose.Yes, you can wash the liner with the rest of your diapers. The amount of cream left on the liner itself is very very unlikely to cause issues with your diapers, with the higher levels of water and detergent also in the washing machine. Just my .02
