Not sure exactly where to post this, here or c-sections
Were you told that after 2 c-sections you can't try for a VBAC?
With DD my water broke, they needed pit to make me contract, I stalled at 4cm for16 hours and ended with an emergency c-section.
We were scheduled for a c-section on 7-29 but I had discussed with my OB the idea of if I went early to sit it out and see what I did. On 7/28 my water broke. They hooked me up to check the contractions. I didn't have a single one the entire time and my cervix showed no progress so back to the c-section it was for me.
I would like the option to attempt with any future children but was told while scheduling DS's c-section that after two I'm not allowed. I was wondering if this a universal rule, or specific to my hospital.
Re: Those who had 2 c-sections (VBAC question)
I was told the same thing. I think the doctor would, theoritically, let me, but it's a hospital policy. Who knows...maybe by the time I go to have a third child, the rule will change or they will catch up with the ACOG and let some women who have had 2 prior c-sections try for a VBAC. But I bet it won't happen right away- I think they are scared of lawsuits.
But, regardless, I probably do want another RCS. But...I don't like being told that I can't consider a VBAC. And I don't like that it makes it harder for me to push till at least 40 weeks for a scheduled c-section.
