My son will be three in February and he still won't even sit on a his potty chair or the big potty. We bought his potty chair when he turned two and we have it sitting out in the open in the bathroom. He won't even go near it. He hates stickers, so I don't know how to even get him to just sit on the chair. Any suggestions?
Thanks!!
Re: My DS still isn't potty trained...
If he's not interested, don't force it. For a boy, being "almost 3" and not PTed, is not that uncommon. I just read the APA stated the average age for boys is 37 months. All the teachers in DS' preschool have said in general boys take longer. If incentives aren't working, take a break, and try again in a month.
I think society just expects all kids to be trained by 2 or shortly after and many kids are, but then there are many who are not. At least that's what I like to tell myself because my son still has no interest in it either. He's just now wanting to sit on the potty. I'm waiting until he wants to do it for now.
At some point he'll get it, you don't hear of kids going to college still needing diapers right?
