Lilian vs. Liliane?

Is Liliane too youneek?  It is the French spelling, but I'm not French. lol  For some reason, it just seems a little less like an old ladies name with the e at the end.  Sources differ on whether they're pronounced the same.

I love the look of the French version, but I'd be afraid that she'd always have to correct people on the pronunciation.

I do not think Lilian is little old lady at all.  It fits a cute little girl.  The other way is a little too much.

i get what you're saying but i think it looks weird. maybe lillian or liliann?

Problem is, the French version would be pronounced differently -- Lili-AHN.

I say go with Lillian.  (I think it's supposed to have two Ls.)  It's a very pretty name.

I think Lillian is adorable and not in the least like an old lady! I would only go with the French version if you are going to use the French pronunciation.

Liliane makes me put the emphasis on the last syllable. so it's like Lily-AIN instead of Lily-ann.

Definitely prefer Lilian!

I wouldn't do it.  Lilian or Lillian.
