At my 6 week post pregnancy appointment, my OB decided to run my blood to see if she could pin point the cause of my PIH and baby's IUGR. I got a call from her last night with the results and she has discovered that I have the factor 5 gene mutation! Basically, this means that I am at a higher risk for developing clots. During pregnant, this mutation can cause PIH, IUGR, miscarriages, And placental abruption. My two symptoms explained! In any future pregnancies, I will be started on a blood thinner right away. Thought I would share the news. Not necessarily good news, but at least I have an explanation!
That's great that your doctor decide to run blood work. Even though it's not a great answer, at least you now know. Glad to hear Declan is doing so well.
I have that too! I took the lovenox shots starting right away and ended up with 2 beautiful, albeit little, girls Glad to hear you have some answers and your little one is doing so well!

Glad you have a plan for next time!
I was on Lovenox this last PG (for MTHFR). The shots suck, and cause some awesome looking bruises, but it's all worth it in the end
