We are going to Methodist Women's Hospital.....several of our friends have delivered there and we had only heard great things!! We have had about 4 visits so far to the Women's clinic that is attached and LOVE it, everyone is so friendly and the Hospital is absolutely beautiful too!
Bergan is wonderful! That is where I am going to deliver, and all of my friends that have delivered there have had nothing but wonderful things to say! The new maternity ward is super nice
I hear great things about Bergan and the most babies in Omaha are delivered there I think (I work for Alegent, so I've got random stats everywhere ). I'm seeing an MD out at Methodist's Women's hospital on 192nd and dodge. It's a hike, but the facilities look AMAZING. And my MD is super nice as are all the nurses.
BFP #1: 8/2010 - m/c 9/2010 at 7.5 weeks
-Dx w/ PCOS - Metformin and acupuncture to jumpstart cycles
BFP #2: 4/2011 - DS born 12/30/2011
BFP #3: 2/1/2013 - due 10/4ish
I delivered at Bergan, and it was great! Totally remodeled and the staff was amazing. Nothing but good experiences with my induction turned into c-section. Good Luck!
I delivered both my babies on the Clarkson side of the med center and LOVED it! They nurses are super nice and patient, and the rooms are big and nice. You are also able to stay in the same room for labor and delivery which was a bonus for me
The nurses were super nice. The NICU is on the same floor and you can go whenever you want. They make cookies every afternoon (yum!) and had someone come in and give me a message the next day. I also liked that they have a nursery. When I wanted to shower (and my husband was shuttling MIL back and forth), I could wheel the baby to the nursery and not worry while I showered.
Add another vote for Bergan. I delivered DS there back in 2005 & had nothing but good experiences there. Since they've remodeled I've visited one relative and one friend there & they both had good things to say. We are currently trying to conceive baby number 2 & I won't consider an OB unless they have rights at Bergan.
It really depends on what kind of birth you are looking for. Personally you couldnt pay me to go to Bergan Mercy for any type of health care. I think its one of the worst hospitals in town. If you are leaning towards a more natural, less medically invasive birth then the Med Center is a much better option for you, or any hospital that is not affiliated with Alegent would be better. If you are fine with having a more medically managed labor than you may be ok at Bergan. As a birth doula I attend births at all of the hospitals in town. Not all of my clients are planning a natural birth and some are being induced so I have been able to have a wide variety of experiences. As a childbirth educator I get feedback from my students after they have their babies on what their personal birth experience was. I have students planning to deliver at all the hospitals in the area in my classes so it that allows me to have a broad view of how different hospitals handle birth.
I am delivering at Bergan also. Not much choice as that's where my OB has privileges. I hear that the new renovations of the maternity ward are awesome!!
I delivered at Bellevue Medical Center and couldn't have been happier. The rooms are like a spa hotel. The nurses are wonderful. I really felt like it was a family occasion every time someone came into my room. Wouldn't go anywhere else.
I delivered my son at Clarkson....wouldn't go anywhere else. You deliver your baby in the same LARGE room that you will be staying in your whole stay. The nurses were awesome. You also couldn't pay me to deliver at Bergan! I will be having my second baby at Clarkson as well.
