Sensory/Auditory question

I also asked on the SAIF board, but just wanted to ask you girls too.

Does your DC hum/sing along to commercials on tv, songs on the radio?  I'm glad she is memorizing things and it seems typical. (how else would they learn important things if it weren't for repetition)  Just wondering if she's more "in tuned" than other kids?  I don't know, sometimes it just strikes me as odd.  For example, we know what it sounds like when a truck is backing up, or when you start up the car and lil dings go off for certain things (seatbelt sign) things like that.  But we don't think of it, we hear it, know what it is and don't think twice about it.  Sophie will hum the chime of whatever it is that's beeping/going off all while doing something completely different.  She's not totally focused on the noise, yet she still acknowledges it.

Her OT asked me if I've noticed that she doesn't like loud noises (other kids crying) and I def. have.  She thinks b/c she is so observant, and visually focused on things that she isn't processing the auditory part of what's going on around her so its more sensitive to her.  She thinks it seems like a positive thing, but she still wants to keep an eye on it.  Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this in their child?  Thanks!
