Party food -- WDYT?

For PAC's birthday party on Saturday, we're ordering pizza for everyone. It's from 1-3 at his taekwondo place, so it's not a long thing. But I feel weird doing just pizza, especially for the parents. So I'm making tabbouleh and figured I'd make some sort of pasta salad too. Dessert is cupcakes and rice krispie treat sushi.

I still don't think that's enough, but I'm used to throwing these blowout parties and having a vast buffet of food. This is the first time we're doing a 2-hour thing, ya know?

So is it enough? If not, what else to offer?

  • I would do more snack-y type things with the pizza.  I don't know what tabbouleh is, but I don't know that I'd do pasta salad.  Maybe just some chips and dip and a veggie and/or fruit tray.  Since it's not meal time and you're having it at a fairly interactive place, I think people will like to have more finger foods.
  • I think that's plenty. Usually you only have about 30 to 45 minutes to eat at these things, and you have to include cake time in there as well.

  • I'd add a fruit tray and that's it!

  • I agree with REOM and maybe add a fruit tray.  I would flip for the tabbouleh since I don't get to eat it homemade that often!

  • Honestly at most parties that we have been that are in that time frame, only dessert is served.  I think pizza and the dessert you made is totally fine.  If I was going to a 1pm party, I would have already eaten lunch and its too early for dinner.

  • At that time of day, honestly I think you would be fine with a few snack foods (chips/veggies/dips/etc), the pizza and a cake. The best part about having a party somewhere other than your house is that it is less fo you to do, so don't overdo it :)
