Have you read any reviews on the Radian RXT? We absolutely don't need another carseat, but I stumbled on it while doing some booster research. Any thoughts? It looks like the total height is the same as the XTSL, so it may not be a great booster option. It looks huge in the pics though...

  • Not GHM, but have looked a lot into the new diono seats. The radian with booster option is the same height as all the other radians and will have a weight minimum of 50 lbs in booster mode. While it's a nice thought, since the headrest won't go any higher it will be outgrown in harness and booster mode at the same time, and at least Julia will definitely be under 50 lbs before that happens, so using it in booster mode won't be an option for us.

  • I agree with what penguin said. I don't know anyone who has tried it in booster mode, but it seems kind of worthless. The 50 lb minimum is crazy. Ethan has long outgrown all harness seats, and is not quite 50 lbs yet. I understand the sentiment, but it's kind of a fail IMO.

  • I saw that. DD1 is about 46 lbs and 47" right now at 5 years, so I'm not sure she'd be able to use the booster until at least 6 years. I guess she'd get some use out of it as a booster, but it definitely doesn't look like it has the head or side impact protection of the high back boosters we just bought. I think they'd be better off starting the booster weight at 40 lbs.

I would love to get DD1 in it just to see how it fits. They changed the angle in those photos just enough that it looks higher in booster mode. Good marketing technique.
