My sister's FI had one this morning and I'm worrying about him. Its never happened before. Can they happen for no reason? Yes, I know google is working today but its a pain on my phone.

I know that it can be because of many things. I have a friend that is diabetic and has epilepsy, and if her blood sugar gets too low she will seize. I think it can be a sign of electrolyte imbalance or severe dehydration too.
That is pretty much all I know though. Sorry if I am no help. T&P for your sister's FI!
Livian Elizabeth and Alayna Marjorie! On their way to 3!
I have what they call psuedo seizures caused by stress. It isn't as bad as the grand mal, where you are seriously jerking around on the the ground, but I get really tense and jerk a little. My dad has the grand mal caused by a tumor and magnesium deficiency. I am sure they will run many, many test for him and see if he has anything like a tumor or a deficiency in anything. Or he could just be like me. It is scary, but I'm sure everything will be fine. GL to them and many T&Ps
i wish i could be joking but my dad is the music teacher at a church so he owuld be mad. we had sex, all the time how bad i know but we dont want to wait and he said GREAT OH KAY! and I was really feeling the wets? down there- too embarsed to say- but he acted like man.
I have had pedi mal epilepsy since i was 3. So 25 years. My seizures are not bad howeve when my body is under stress they become worse. I had so many after i had Lo that I couldn't hold him sometimes. It was scary. My brother had epilepsy for about 5 years when he was younger and now they came back after 20 years. Seizures can come on for no reason or for many. Only a neurologist can really help. It could be a one time thing or something more serious. Fevers do bring mine on however epeilepsy is caused my electic waves in your brain malfiring.
Thank you all so much! It's all very reassuring. I know they are not super uncommon, but nobody in our family has ever had one (except the dog) so it's new and scary territory. My sister is with him now, they are at the hospital awaiting tests. Apparently it happened at work so my sister wasn't with him. I think they are more freaked out about it than anything. I hope everything is fine with him, I have a feeling it is Thanks for the support!

I'm sorry your sister and her fi have to go through this! Dh had one, in his sleep, out of the blue nearly 2 years ago. He had never had them before. It was a grand mal and I seriously thought that I lost him (he was blue and wasn't breathing after he stopped seizing), it was horrible. They did testing on him and everything came back normal..no blood sugar issues, nothing was brought on by flashing lights, nothing. He's had 6 more since then (he got on medication last summer after 2 seizures a week apart) and they just upped his meds. They're pretty sure his issue is he suffered head trauma about 8 years ago and they think the seizures are a result of that trauma. His have only ever been in his sleep as well (knock on wood!). Good luck to your sister's fi, I hope things turn out ok for him and that this was a one time thing!

I had seizures for about a year when I was two years old . To this day they still do not know what caused them. But I havent had one since then.
Has he been sick recently? Sometimes I know high fevers can cause them.
