Cloth Diapering

Oh Katy's?

I'm working on a stash for twins and picking up a couple of everything, but I stumbled across Oh Katy's and they are really appealing to me.  I love the made in the USA and the idea of the pocket in the front.  Has anyone else tried them?  What did you think?  Of course the reviews on her website are fabulous, but what do you expect?

TIA

  • I have not personally tried them, but was chatting with a fellow CD'er on my regular board and she said she hated them because the rise snaps wouldn't stay snapped for her.

  • I have a couple, and they are very, very trim, but are on the smaller side.  Not sure about the rise snap issue PP mentioned, because DS needed them fully unsnapped when we first got them.  I actually don't like pockets in the front, but it doesn't bother me too bad.

  • I have one and don't really like it because every single time I go to fasten it, the rise snaps come undone. It's very frustrating!  I don't have that problem with any other pocket diapers, the snaps are super strong on all the other brands I have.

  • We also have a problem with the rise snaps coming undone in the wash and when stuffing but they usually stay snapped when they are on DS. However, they do run on the small side. DS is already on the 2nd rise snaps and he's not exactly huge. Also, the inserts are not as absorbent as BG's- I have to use both the newborn and regular inserts or he leaks.

I really love the colors and look and feel of the TPU (instead of PUL). I wish they worked better. I'll probably keep them around until he grows out of them, but I wish I could trade them in for more BG's.

  • I really like my oh katy diaper but hate the pocket in the front.  When you pull the insert out it is all pee!  But the fit is great and I've never had an issue with the snaps.  For me Kawaiis always come unsnapped when I put them on LO.

  • We only use these as night time diapers right now.  DH is not a heavy wetter, so they work for us as long as they're double stuffed.  I don't use them during the day much because they can leak if he moves a lot.  I do have one that I can't use at all because the rise snaps won't stay snapped on it.  I'm holding on to it until he grows into it.  The other four I have work just fine for us.  I got them for a great deal, and I do like the colors, but I probably won't buy more.

  • The oh katy is prob my least fav of all my diapers. I am happy now I only bought 1. Hate the pocket in the front, and these run small. My 10 month old is not exactly big (30th percentile for weight) and we are already on the highest rise.  I heard RaR ran small, but we are actually still on the medium rise in those. I as well dont like how you can't small the 2 inserts together like you can with RaR, so the small insert moves and bunches.
