Choosing a Doctor

Hello everyone,

I am 6 weeks pregnant with my first child. I am also pretty new to Riverside, CA. Only been here for a year and don't know anyone with kids. I need some recommendations for a doctor. I went to one last month (before I knew I was pregnant) for my yearly visit and then again for my first prenatal visit but I am not completely satisfied with her.

Can someone give me a recommendation for a good female doctor and hospital?

My insurance covers Riverside Community Hosp, Loma Linda and Redlands Community Hosp. But I don't know how good any of them are.

Also, I called Loma Linda's gyn/ob dept but they told me that if I pick a doctor there, they won't be guaranteed to be the one who delivers the baby (which is the most important part, I think).

Please help. I am new to all this and it is a bit overwhelming. Thank you!!! Smile

Re: Choosing a Doctor

  • Congratulations!

I used Darcy Bryan and she is part of the Riverside Medical Clinic and delivers at Riverside Community Hospital and Parkview Community. Her office is located in Corona though, but it's not far from Riverside. Just off the 15 and Magnolia.

Overall I really liked her. She has a good bedside manner and her staff is wonderful.  If you are looking for someone that is natural chilbirth friendly she might not be my first choice, but she was fexible with my wishes and I did end up having a med-free birth with my daughter. I delivered at Parkview, so I can't tell you anything about Riverside Community.

My SIL saw Dr. Yoo from the Riverside Medical Clinic and delivered at Riverside Community via a repeat c-section and she really liked him.

Good luck finding a Dr and hospital that are a fit for you! H&H 9 months to you as well!
