Monitor Question

One of our lo's came home on a monitor simply because of the feeding tube. He had no episodes while he was on it in the step-down unit as well as no episodes when he was on it at home. My understanding was that when we were done with the feeding tube we were also done with the monitor. My question is that if you had a similar situation where your lo had no episodes/reasons other than making sure the feeding tube didn't interfere with their breathing, how long after the tube was gone were they on the apnea monitor? (hope this ? makes sense)
