Re: **woombies v. swaddleme's**

  • We use both. I think you can definitely get a tighter swaddle with the swaddle mes..but it doesn't seem to make a huge difference to my girls when it comes to their sleep. The woombies are nice and convienent because I am not good at wrapping them tight, so if DH is not around to swaddle, I use a woombie.

The people that make the swaddleme (summer or kiddopotamus or whatever brand is on them these days) makes something called a swaddlepod which is basically a knock off woombie but much cheaper.. I haven't tried them, but have been meaning to get one since N is outgrowing her NB woombies.

  • Funny you mentioned this... I just got two woombies for O when they were on mamabargains a few weeks ago... I got the larger ones (14lbs plus) and Im not sure that i like them... it isnt tight on O at all, I can zip him in with his hands to his side, but then he can move his arms after ward, and gets all frustrated ... BUT I might try to incorporate it to try and break him of the swaddle

That being said - I love my swaddlemes.

Yeah, they're not really designed to keep their arms to their sides.. like a swaddle me. But as he grows into it more, you might find he is more secure/comfy in it, that was how it was with Eve. Eve wasn't 14lbs til she was like 7 months old, so we never got a larger sized one for her.
