Car Seat Configuration

I am curious to hear how most of you have your car seats set up.  Currently DS is behind the passenger seat, but I'm not sure where to put the infant seat.  I know that it is safest to have it in the middle, but I'm not sure if they would even fit next to each other like that.  Anyways, please let me know if you do/are doing middle and side or 2 sides and how you like it.  Thanks!

DD1 is RF behind the passenger and DD2 is RF behind the driver.  We have a lot of street parking, so I like the toddler getting out onto the sidewalk.  I have the baby behind the driver because the toddler throws her toys, when she's had enough.

WAY back when I only had two (and no minivan ) I had the infant seat behind me and DS1's seat behind the passenger.  The theory I had was that DS1 was walking and I'd prefer to put him in the car on the "safe side" meaning the side that would be away from traffic if we parallel parked somewhere.  It was also quicker to snap in the infant seat on the driver side than it was to buckle DS1 in so that limited the amount of time I was standing "in the street".

I have DS1 behind the passenger and DS2 behind the driver.  DS1 will toss his toys, cups, books or whatever in the seat next to him so cant put DS2 there.  Also DS1 likes to give DS2 his toys when we are in the house having them next to each other would be way too much unsupervised access.
