Sleeping a lot = Getting sick???

I should probably be happy, but instead I'm kind of worried! My baby girl slept 9, yes 9!, hours straight last night! She woke up to eat around 630am and only ate like 15 min on one side, which would be normal for her except that I figured she would be WAY more hungry since she didn't eat all night.

Yesterday and the day before she was up every 2 hours exactly eating like a champ. I should be super excited she slept but I'm worried she's getting sick....?

Could it also be a growth spurt since she ate sooo often for 2 days and now she is sleeping?

I did swaddle her for the first time since the hospital last night- could that have helped her sleep all night?

Gosh you worry about them not sleeping, then they do, and you worry about that!!

I know, right!!! Big Smile. I dont think sleeping more = getting sick though. My little man has slept 9 or 10 hrs straight at night before and was not sick. I think sometimes they just need more sleep, sometimes they need less. I would try to enjoy the sleep

  • I remember when DS1 was about 2 weeks old, he slept through the night. I panicked the next morning when I woke up (from the best sleep ever...haha) and realized he never cried.  I ran in and he was fine.  I think it was just one of those nights. I wouldn't worry too much that your LO is getting sick.
