A little scared

So today we have an OB check and tomorrow is the ammnio. Have to admit I'm a little scared. I have never had an ammnio and I am NOT a big fan of needles, so the idea of them sticking a very large one into my stomach with my precious little one jumping around is a little scarry. Please tell me someone else has felt this way and I am not just getting scared over nothing???

I dont have any personal experience with the ammnio, but I do have friends that went through it and said they mentally worked themselves up more than was necessary - its really not so bad.  Hang in there..you'll do fine!

I have not had an amnio, but it's of course natural to be nervous. Just remember, your doctor has probably done countless hundreds of these before and will use the utmost care. Even though it's scary for you, he or she has complete confidence they can do this safely. So take a deep breath, and leave them to do the worrying. GL today!

I had one with my first, its really more scary sounding than it is. Yes its a big needle. Yes you are going to be nervous, but trust me, if you can imagine putting a needle in a balloon thats what it feels like... a little tiny"pop"  and its over. you dont feel anything else. good luck and try to be calm it really is nothing to worry about.
