ummm Mucus plug?

I have been on bedrest since 20 weeks 1 day when my A/S showed IC and had an emergent cerlage placed the next day. I was released after 3 days in L & D on strict BR with Bathroom Privelages. Well Now I am 24 weeks and 5 days, and last night I believe a piece of my mucus plug came out... it was about the size of a dime and looking like i blew my nose (TMI, sorry), but no blood. Should I be freaking out or is it common to lose pieces of it here and there without laboring ensuing shortly after? Thanks.

It could just be discharge.

I had lots of mucus like glob discharge especially after my cerclage.  High risk dr told me that it is normal and that it is because there is a foreign object in my body so it makes this discharge.  If you are concerned call your dr, but you should be fine.  I had that throughout the pregnancy...your mucus blood does rebuild itself throughout.

I lost mine before my cerc and it was certainly a sign that things were headed downhill. Are you still on BR? I would contact your Dr. if you are concerned and take it easy, as pp have said increased discharge w/the cerc is normal, but the mp is pretty distinctive. I'd be surprised if you had much left if you already dilated, pre-cerc. GL!

I had the same thing starting about 2 weeks ago, I'm now 25 weeks and 5 days. But it looked just like snot! It was rubbery-like and when I explained it to the doctors, she told me that it sounded like my mucus plug, and not to be worried if there's no blood, all it means is that your cervix is thinning which we already knew because i have a short cervix also, and have been on bedrest for 5 weeks now in the hospital. Only now, starting yesterday I'm starting to see some blood in mine, which they think is from having a transvaginal ultrasound done, and are just keeping an eye out.

P.S When it first happened to me, I made the mistake of googling "mucus plugs" haha it was disgusting, but sure enough...
