I'm wondering what would be an appropriate Thank You for the nurses and aides who have been so awesome to me and my family during this stay.
There are about 20ish ladies who have helped make this bearable and help keep my spirits up over the past weeks. A few of them have even been so sweet to even bring me goodies from the outside world, i.e. DVD's, Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia, books, etc..
I want to do something in addition than a positive patient feedback form. I was thinking along the lines of bringing some homemade goodies for those that are here during the Thanksgiving holiday, but of course not all of them will be here, and I live 2 hours away. I also need to keep the cost down..
Any suggestions?
Re: Past or present hospital bedresters, or MoM nurses- a ?
Hi there! I did a few things -- while still there on bedrest, we brought in all the leftover cupcakes and cookies from my baby shower (it had been a day prior to my being admitted on bedrest). On a few of my visits to the NICU to see our twins, I brought in a box of pastries from a local italian bakery. And, after they were discharged, I sent two edible arrangements, one on a Tuesday mid-afternoon (to get my weekday day/evening nurses) and one on a Saturday (to get the weekend staff). All were big hits!!
Good Luck! I think even the smallest thank you will go a long way!!!
Lurking and wanted to comment as I am a LDRP/NICU RN. I think the germaphobe is nurse thing across the board. Coffee and donuts are always a hit.
thanks so much for the suggestions!
After being here for awhile, I've sort of become a germophobe, too. I've had to explain to my kids whenever they visit that the "5 second rule" does not apply here!
What about a fresh fruit bouquet? I believe they deliver, look at their website:
