I have a short list of names that I like for a girl, but I am wondering what names other people would put with my last name. Maybe there are names I haven't thought about that I could add to the list.
My last name is Flanagan.
The names I have already come up with are:
Gretchen Renee
Gwyneth Eileen
Isla Corinne
Agatha Nadine
Feel free to comment on the names in my list too.
Re: What girl names would you pair with my last name?
Gretchen!!!
Thats what we were going to name DS if he had been a girl
I like, in order: Isla Corinne, Gwyneth Eileen
Not so much on Gretchen Renee or Agatha Nadine. I am not a fan of FN and LN ending the same way, and I find the hard -n ending of Gretchen with your LN harsh. Agatha is, in my opinion, a beautiful name, but I think the hard-As in both your LN and that FN will also make it harsh.
What other kinds of names do you like?
mm 2/17/11 * dd born 4/20/12 * bo 1/3/14 * edd 1/21/ 1/15
I would put anything that sounds even remotely Irish with Flanagan.
Molly Flanagan, Caitlin Flanagan, Reilly Flanagan, Erin Flanagan, Finley Flangan, Kinley Flanagan, Bridget Flanagan, Keira Flanagan, Claire Flanagan, Kendall Flanagan, Fiona Flanagan, Meryl Flanagan, Merritt Flanagan, Myra Flanagan, Mara Flanagan, Nora Flanagan, Teagan Flanagan
Or, there are some names that just work on their own (imho)
Sarah Flanagan, Cara Flanagan, Elizabeth Flanagan, Abigail Flanagan, Laurel Flanagan, Laura Flanagan, Julia Flanagan, Meredith Flanagan, Lily Flanagan, Sadie Flanagan
GL!
My vote is for Isla Corinne.
I'm glad you mentioned the FN and LN ending the same - I was kind of wondering about that.
I like names that are known and maybe somewhat classic, but aren't used frequently. I feel like I'm a little limited by my last name being so Irish sounding. Otherwise, I would love names like Nadia and Katrina.
Thanks for this long list! I was curious about Fiona because I do like the name, but is that too many Fs?
Also - my name is Sarah! :-)

Isla Corinne is my fave. I think Gwyneth goes well with Flanagan but I'm not a fan of Eileen. Gretchen and Agatha are NMS.
I also really like many of the names the pp suggested! Very pretty!

I agree with using something that sounds at least a little Irish. Of your choices, I love Isla.
