Does anyone else find it weird when people suggest names when you haven't asked for them? It's one thing to jokingly request that you name the baby after them, but another to be like "You should name it Sheila if it's a girl!" I never quite know how to respond.

Re: Gotten any name suggestions?
My mother in law suggested Sophia since DH is Italian. I actually ended up sort of liking the name after she suggested it but now I don't want her to think she named our baby. How terrible is that? I should be happy that she actually gave a decent name suggestion. LOL

Oh yea. My Dad has a list of names and every time I talk to him on the phone he runs a few by me. My grandmother also think that we should name the baby after her. Cecilia if its a girl, Cecil if its a boy.
Its ok, we've already picked out our names and we're not going to share until the last few weeks!
OMG, that is totally creepy!
One of my friends (named Jennifer) mentioned that Jennifer would be a good name no matter what we have when she heard. Of course, she was kidding and it made me laugh...
So far only my mom has really talked about names to me. Everyone else has left that alone or at most asked if we have any names picked. I guess I'm lucky so far!
OMG! My MiL will NOT stop pestering me with names. She HATES the names we picked out (Amelia Grace for a girl, Frederick Joseph [family name] if it's a boy), and thinks her suggestions are soooooo much better...
Examples: Jael. How the heck do you pronounce that? Not to mention it's apparently a girl name? Yup. Jailbait will totally become a nickname... Ugh.
Chloe. But she doesn't want it pronounced with the "e." It has to be pronounced "Chlo."
Zeke. Sorry if anyone likes this name, but she even knows that an abusive exbf had this name and keeps telling me I have to name my kid this.
Daphne.
Baruch.
Cornelius.
Ok, I think you get the point... It's like she opened up her Bible and found names that are unusual and decided I had to name my child whatever she wants. Um. No way and I'm not even going to be that polite about shooting down any more suggestions she gives because what I name my kid is really none of her effing business.
Amelia Grace is pretty!!! MIL is crazy
The only suggestion so far is that DH wants to name the baby after FIL if it's a boy. To which I responded, "your father had 2 sons and had 2 opportunities to have a FIL, Jr. Our child will not be named that." I think (hope) he was kidding so it won't be an issue.
Not many people know I'm pg at this point, but I'm sure once we tell the opinions will come from all sides.

My coworker's daughter is Amelia Kate. I love that name!
Cornelius?!?! Really???
So far, the only person to suggest a "real" name has been my BF's 9 year old son. He said if we have a girl we should name her Riley. I actually think it's pretty cute.
I *really* love Pinterest!
My nephew suggested Triangle... for either sex. I told him it's on our list...
This was my favorite one.
