Scary situation

MH and I were in bed, and I was trying to fall asleep when we heard a knock on our back door (which is in our bedroom).  MH opened the door to find a state trooper with an M-16 assault rifle.  Apparantly something is going at the house across the street.  He told us to turn off our front porch light, stay down, and keep the dogs calm.  Oh, and to stay calm ourselves.  REALLY?!  You want me to stay calm?  How the heck to I fall asleep now?!  Sheesh!

    Whoa, that is scary! I hope everything turns out to be alright. I'm sure you guys will be fine, but my mind would be racing right now. Do you have Pinterest? I find I can fall asleep more easily (when my mind is more awake than my body) if I mindlessly scroll through Pinterest on the iPad. Reading always helps me, too.

    Good idea!  Pinterest it is!  And, no, they didn't tell us what was going on. 

    And no, we don't know them personally.  They've always been relatively friendly toward us..

    Oh, and the troopers are set up in our front yard... :-/

    Yikes.  I hope everything is ok.

    Something similar happened to my cousin a month after he moved.  He was awakened after 2 am by two RCMP pointing guns in his face.  Someone using machetes attacked his upstairs neighbors and the cops were searching the building.  Being the silly a$$ he is he told the cops "don't mind the smell I just sh!t myself."

    Yikes! That is definitely not the door knock you want to get at bedtime. Stay toward the back of the house just in case and be safe! Let us know what happens...
