What model do you have....do you love it?

Not sure, the floors are DH's job, but I think ours is orange and he loves it.

I love mine. We have the purple animal. It is a hair magnet (even my hair). I've had to cut the hair off the roller at least 2-3 times since we got it because my long hair gets wrapped around it and I shed like a monkey apparently. It's nasty, but I'd rather cut it off than have it still on the floor.

I think we have the DC07 and we love, love, love it!  It picks up so much dog hair and dirt out of our carpets.  I am also an instant gratification type of person so seeing what it is picking up is very cool.  A lot of people have the Animal but the only difference is the attachments (which can be bought separately if you really want/need them).

lol... I think you are the only woman who actually wants a vaccuum cleaner as a gift.... I think most people are insulted when their husbands buy one for them!!!

I have the yellow one with the roller ball and I love it!  It's so easy to push and has incredible sucking power.  LOL @ sucking power.....

 Agreed! It also confirms that I am getting old...because this is the only thing that I can think of that I really want!!!

We have the purple animal version.  I like it. We've had it for four years and it still works fine.  I've got a few issues, like when I empty the can, it sometimes doesn't always click back into place easily and I have to mess with it for 10 minutes to get it back.

But it's held up pretty well.  We don't really use the animal attachments much anymore, though, nor do we use the carpet setting.  Most of our furniture is leather and our floors are wood.  But it does really well picking up cat hair off the wood floors and the little bit of carpet we do have.

DH does all the vaccuuming but we have the Dyson Slim and he loves it.

I have the regular yellow one and we have animals and it works great. I noticed a difference right away when I started using it. I highly recommend it.

Have the animal and LOVE it. We have 2 dogs that shed a lot. It is amazing what it picks up. DH likes it even more than I do!

We got the standard one and are wishing we got the animal one. We have a sheltie who sheds so much hair!! If you have any pets go with the animal one.

We have the original yellow one and LOVE dyson.  It worked so well, picked up everything and then some (until we used it as a shop vac and picked up cement flooring...so totally our fault, not dyson's).  We're hoping to get an animal to replace it soon since we have 2 dogs and a cat.

We also have the Dyson Animal and love it. Our dog sheds like crazy, so I use it on the upholstery, curtains, wood floors, tile, and carpet. It's great. My only complaint is that I have to empty the canister so often because it picks up so much!

We have the Dyson for all floor types and luv luv luv it.  Our only kicker was 3 mths after we had bought it the Dyson ball came out...boohoo.  Its amazing what the Dyson will pick up though.

In a word: LOVE! I have the regular yellow one. We have a white golden retriever and a white cat...both of whom shed year round. It picks up everything. Not thrilled with the way you have to put the attachments on, but otherwise, one of the best investments ever.

Can the Animal be used on Hardwoods?

I use my Dyson Animal on hardwood.  I think the only difference between the animal and the other purple version is the Animal comes with more attachments (for cleaning upholstry and things).

Just got the DC14 with the full kit last week. I must say, it is very nice:) Picks up everything very well. I'm happy with it. (We have 1 cat so we needed something to get up the cat hair and we primarily have hardwoods.)
