Another photo software question

Based on some recs here, I downloaded Picasa and started using that bc it looked the easiest for me for simple edits.  Here is my problem - I have gone thru and cropped and edited the color on my pics, but now when I am trying to upload them to shutterfly to put in a book and order prints, none of the changes I made show.  It is uploading the original version of the pic.  So I guess technically I could go thru on shutterfly and re-do all that, but what a pain!  Am I missing something in Picasa?  Or should I switch over to another program?

After you make the changes, you have to save it.  You can either save over the top of the file or save as a new edited file.  (I always save as a new file because I'm afraid I'll regret not having the original and because I have tons of storage space.)
