In the cases of a baby in OP position where the mother winds up needing a c section, at what descent station is the baby usually at when it won't go any further?
Also, how much of the head is usually visible by the time they can say for sure that the mother will NOT need a c section due to head positioning?
Re: OP position?
pretty high... it probably varies a bit from situation to situation.
If the head is visible at all, I would think that the baby is coming out. By that time, it has cleared the pelvis- there wouldn't be much holding it back.
My son was OP and wouldn't come out. His head wasn't even remotely visible because he hadn't entered the birth canal at all, even after three hours of pushing. I never bothered to ask what station he was at, though.
Can I ask why you're asking these questions? You seem a bit like you're wondering about a specific situation.
Mine never went past 0 station, pretty much the same as the PP you couldn't see her had at all.
I pushed for about 3hrs before I had my section.

FWIW, I had a VBAC with my second, and he was 2+ pounds heavier and 2 inches longer. In my case, it was all about positioning.
