Cloth Diapering

any chance my Lil Joeys will be ok?

Please tell me there is hope...

My DH decided to help with the diaper laundry this morning.  And he ran a whole washer full of Lil Joeys on the "sanitary" cycle.  When it was done it was SO hot in the washer.  I'm afraid they're toast.  Pretty sure I've read they should never, ever go on that cycle.

Anyone ever have diapers end up on the "sanitary" cycle?  Are they all destined for the garbage can?

  • I've done it before (on purpose) and they're fine! Aren't they supposed to be washed in hot water anyway?

  • I've done it before (on purpose also) with diapers both with and without PUL and haven't had a problem.  Over time, it may be harder on the elastic, but one time shouldn't ruin them.

  • Thanks!  I hope they're fine, so it's good to know it's worked out ok for you ladies.  Yes, the manufacturer's directions say to was on hot, which I do - but the sanitary cycle gets very very hot, way more so than your average hot wash cycle.

  • I've also put my diapers on that setting on purpose and they are all fine.

  • I do it on purpose.  Usually I do heavy duty, but every 3-5 washes I do a sanitary load.  Keeps me from having to use bleach.

Lil Joeys use TPU, not PUL though, right?  They should still be fine after one wash, but super hot water can cause de-laminating.
