Since I hit 2nd tri, I've been having some serious headaches. I don't think I'm dehydrated because I've really been watching my liquid intake.
I know hormone headaches are a common symptom, so I was just looking for some sympathy. My fall allergies started flaring up recently too, so I may just have to bite the bullet and start taking Claritin. I just hate taking over the counter meds (even Tylenol for a headache). With my thyroid issues, I have to take a lot of medication anyway, so I hate adding more to the mix.
Re: Headaches anyone?
Me too. I feel like a total whiny baby, but I rarely get headaches at all. My philosophy on headaches is that it is usually your body trying to tell you you are doing something wrong (like being dehydrated or not getting enough sleep, etc.) so I refuse to take Tylenol to feel better. In this case, though.... I guess it's just pregnancy, which I can't make go away... lol. So I'll have to take the Tylenol for some relief.

I started with headaches at about 9.5 weeks. There was a period there for a while where I had splitting headaches for about 10 days straight, not fun. I drink LOTS of water, so I know I'm not dehydrated...Dr said it is just hormonal and to take tylenol as needed. I did check my blood pressure a few times in the bad phase (Dr did too and it was normal). I'm still getting them occasionally but not every day anymore.
One thing I find that helps a lot is an ice pack to the back of the neck. And not staring at the computer, lol.
I have always had horrible migraines, but it especially sucks now because there isn't much we can do. One tip I got from someone on here is peppermint oil. You rub a little on each temple and some on your forehead, and the cooling affect it has feels amazing.
You won't find it in Vons or any general store (that I searched in at least), DH found it in some herbal store I think..or I'm sure you could find it online :]
No Excedrin, it sucks! That's what normally makes my migraines ago away too. However when I told the doctor how much pain I was in he called in a script for me- made me feel human again.

every single day. i'm so sick of it. and in addition to the constant tension headaches, i've been getting a migraine about once every 2 weeks now too. tylenol doesn't seem to be working either.
oh an tylenol DOES cross the placenta. the fetus can metabolize it though.
My Wedding Bio!
omg, it's nice to see that others are suffering with this too. umm, sorry, that didn't come out right. i wish that none of us had to have these headaches.
i've been a migraine sufferer for years and years, since i was a teenager. i usually take imitrex, can't in pg. just this week i had a migraine on monday- complete with vomiting, headache on tuesday, migraine with vomiting on wednesday, fine thurs and headache friday and today.
i had always heard about caffeine helping, but never really believed it would help me. i drank to large cokes on wednesday and it kicked it. today we were at the state fair all day and i got one, so i got a coke and it went away. it came back on my drive home so i stopped at mcdonald's and got an iced coffee with no sugar and, poof, it was gone. i'm a believer now!!
hope we all start feeling better soon! headaches suck ass.
