Anyone's DC having a tough time in a new school?

Breaks my heart.

My DD has been in daycare since she was a year old. Granted, it was an exceptionally safe and loving environment. She did so well in the Pre-K/preschool curriculum room last year. She has always loved going.

Now she is in a different Pre-K, in a school that goes up to 8th grade. She cries every night, begging not to go back. I ask her, and she said nothing 'happened', she just doesn't like it and wants to go back to her old school. She gave me a big hug and THANK YOU for not making her go today...

I KNOW it will get better, I am just so sad for her

That is heartbreaking. Have you talked to her teacher? I would contact him/her.

That is sad.  Do a lot of the children in her class already know each other?  Cliques start as early as preschool, trust me, I saw it when my kids were that age.   I would start out by talking to her teacher to make sure nothing else is going on besides her not knowing anyone.  Then I would try planning some one on one playdates with some other girls in the class.

Try to see if you can stop by and observe her one day, just to see if you can pin point what's making her so afraid and sad. Poor thing!
