My husband and I like unusual (but not too unusual) names. No matter how many girl names we add to the list, we can't stop thinking about Jolie Grace. I think it sounds so pretty and feminine and strong. Yes, Angelinia Jolie is a popular celebrity but not sure how much weight to put in that?
So, honest thoughts?
Re: Jolie
All of this. Jolie immediately brings Angelina Jolie to mind, so it makes the name feel really trendy and celeb-obsessed. Kind of like the name Aniston.
It is really pretty, though. Fortunately, there are SO many gorgeous girl names out there.

I love it. As pp said, it's French and has a lot more meaning than just a celebrity association. (Besides, are we going to rule out Angelina for this reason, too?) Grace is a great middle name and it sounds lovely. I have a new cousin in the family named Jovie which is close and also a new favorite of mine.
I knew a girl named Jolie, pronounced JO-lee (hard J, emphasis on the Jo) and I liked that very much.
If you're thinking jo-LEE, like Angelina, I'm not a fan.
Well Angelina Jolie would certainly prevent me from using the name, and I don't think the Angelina association is going anywhere anytime soon. If I met a Jolie, I would probably think that her parents were big fans.

I agree with pp-I immediately think of Angeline Jolie.
What about name Jolene? You could call her Jolie as a nn.

I love Jolie. I think it's a gorgeous name.
I also don't think Angelina Jolie is such a negative association. There are worse people out there. Though I do get why PP would be detered by her.
Pretty name, but I would not use it because of Angelina Jolie. I don't like the actress at all and would not want people to assume I was a huge fan.
I have a friend and her daughters name is Jolee. I love it. Either spelling.
I love it. I have a cousin named Jole, which I think is the French spelling. It's pronounced Jolie.
I wouldn't be swayed by Angelina.
I like Jolie a lot.
I also like Joelle.
