Vaginal delivery with serious hemorrhoids?? TMI & not for the squeamish

I've had the pleasure of constant hemorrhoids throughout this pregnancy, but felt I got them under some control the last two or three weeks. I'm 41 weeks as of tomorrow, and JUST YESTERDAY my hemorrhoid situation seem to have exploded.

Up until yesterday, I've been able to push back the prolapsed internal hemorrhoids and they seemed to have gotten much better (ie, no itching, no pain) with the help of a regular routine that included apple cider vinegar, vitamin E, some Earth Mama Bottom Balm, Tuck's medicated pads, and Vick's vapo rub (seriously!). Yesterday, I had a strained BM as a result of, oh, i dunno, not enough fiber the day before, walking and lunges to get labor going, not enough water, pressure from having a 41 week baby still inside, etc... and after cleaning and washing up, I couldn't push the prolapsed internal hemorrhoids back up anymore. I have a pile of hemorrhoids just hanging out! And it hurts!

I'm not sure if they're thrombosed or strangulated hemorrhoids, but it sounds like a pretty horrible thing to have if you are planning on vaginal delivery. My question is: has anyone had any experience delivering vaginally with a horrible case of hemorrhoids?

Your poor bum!!! I have some of the worse flare ups since having kids. I feel like my butt is inside out, and since I've been pregnant I have been constipated which only KILLS me when I actually go #2. I've been bleeding when I poo and nothing seems to help keep them away. Whats worse is I have been taking Slowfe for extra iron since I've been anemic to, so I can't seem to find a happy medium.

My fear is having my butt turn inside out during my vaginal deliver this time around. I hate hemis and I'm terrified of having them worse after this baby. I just wish there was something to make them go away!

I didn't have a flare up during my last delivery, but I did have them for a couple weeks after. Doctors told me what I was experiencing is normal and commented on how "small" they were, but lets face it....big or small they are freakin hurt!

I hope your bum feels better soon! So exciting to see your baby sooooo soon!!!

Oh yes, I feel your pain. I got hemerrhoids around week 30 that got worse and worse but were more annoying than anything, they weren't painful. During delivery, they did, unfortunately get worse in that I got internal ones too and they became painful. On the plus side, I didn't have a BM for like 3 days after that, and they slowly got better. I am 11 weeks PP and all i have is a teensie tiny one that doesn't bother me at all.

What I found best to use were suppositories, as awful as the idea of them is, they were the only thing that gave me relief.

Never in my life did I think I would have to deal with stuff like this... I always thought hemmerhoids were for old people!

Can you do a sitz bath if you're still pregnant? Those really helped me post-delivery, but I don't know how long you can sit in lukewarm water when you still have an inside baby.

That sounds so painful =( sorry! Have you talked to the dr/midwife about the situation? I have one but I guess it's an outer/external one. It doesn't hurt, just embarasses me, so I guess I'm lucky. I can't imagine pushing when you're already in so much pain down there! Is there anything a proctologist can do while you're pregnant and so close to delivery? I would def try to get lets of water down and maybe stay off your feet as much as possible for now.
