I am thinking of making my own cloth wipes the easiest way possible! I have a sewing machine, but no serger. What is the best material to use? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I would use terry clothe to make them and you could probably cut squares and use them with the edges raw. Or easiest cheapest way I know is purchasing some of the 1.00 packs of baby washrags. They work great and you dont have to surge or make anything.
Or you could use flannel... but you would need to sew to pieces together right side to right side and pull it through like a pillow and stich the edge. Or you could cut up some old receiving blankets, although you might what to use scissors with a zigzag edge so they dont fray. GL
I spent hours making tons of cloth wipes when I was pregnant. I made them with flannel and terry cloth. We ended up preferring the cheap washcloths I had bought from Amazon and I ended up buying more of then for wipes. We use the homemade ones as washcloths for LO though.

Re: Easy Cloth Wipes
I zig-zagged cheapie baby-washclothes onto squares of flannel--those are my favorite.
(I ade some from 2 layers of flannel, but the ones that have a terry side and flannel siede are better, IMO)
easy peasy. I will say, just sew the 2 fabrics together THEN cut the flannel down to match what you've sewn it to--easier
I like this... thank you everyone!
Mine are terry cloth and flannel. Leftover Christmas flannel, which bugs my husband. :P
I'd probably zig zag close to the edge rather than deal with turning them inside out. It'll save you some time.
I just ordered these. Great deal. Thank you!
