Anyone else have a name they were teased for?

I certainly did and was teased mercilessly until high school! It didn't help that we were military and moved every three years. So just when one set of kids were 'over' it, here came a new set of kids. I used to despise my name and wanted so badly to be called by my MN Nicole. Now that I'm an adult, I like that people know me by my first name only... not that I think I'm Cher or anything.

I share my name with a Disney character and not a girl one, either. I'm actually named after my mother's friend, but of course, what little meanie would know (or care!) about that?

BTW, I'm not as scarred by the situation as I sound, it just makes me very aware of naming my future LO carefully.

I was never teased. But my first name is Sarah. So instead of being teased I was called "Sarah LastNameInitial", and I hated it. My sister, Elizabeth, occasionally got called "Lizard-breath".

I am always teased because of the spelling of my name, Jaime.  I always get called Hi-Me, but it is always in a friendly teasing way by people who know me well. When people who don't know me accidently call me Hi-me, they always just looked embarrased when they see a female.

My name is a day of the week. The kids left me alone for the most part. They would just sing the adams family song. It never bothered me. I LOVE my name. Now the old creepy men at work and other places I have to share my name ask "where is Thursday" and I can't stand it. It drives me crazy because it is always older guys and they ALL think they are soooo funny and the first ones to ever think of saying that.

I never got teased for my name, but my last name was White which put us in some interesting situations.  Our cousin yelled out, "There's the White family!" when she randomly saw us in the middle of the mall...that turned a lot of heads.  We were at a close family friend's graduation party (where we were the only white family), and in the middle of his thank you speech he thanked "the White family".  Most people there didn't know our last name, so we got some interesting looks and we were a little red.  :-)

My name is Susanna so I always got (and still get sometimes) people singing 'Oh Susanna' to me.

What's worse is that I've always gone by the nickname Susy, and there are at least half a dozen songs with the name Susy in them, so I got those too.  (Most common are 'Wake Up Little Susy' and 'Suzy-Q' in case you were wondering).

 This is why I will not name my child anything that is well known in a song (Cecelia, Clementine, Layla, Lola, Leroy etc)

Aww...I like the name Bambi. Perhaps because I was good friends with one in middle school. She was beautiful and sweet and I think that probably helped her case.

My name is Michelle. Pretty regular. But even I have been teased over it. I didn't like when I was called "Mitchell" a few, rare, times. Also, I agree with the PP, Susanna (sp? Sorry, I didn't quote you), about having her name sung to her. There's a Beatles song re: "Michelle". For yeeeears I would get, "Micheeeelle, my belle...etc.etc..." and always by older men. Eww!

My last name is White as well. I'm half black. Which everyone thought was hilarious. I even had a teacher laugh one time. Ugh..... Lol.

My name is Astrid. I definitely got teased for my name, but I didnt care because I loved my name and thought it was cool! Until I met my bestfriends day, "Dad, this is Astrid!" dad says "What!? ASS-TURD?!?!?!" OMG butthole much!!!! Unfortunately her brother went to the same school as us and brought that lovely nickname with him and everyone thought it was funny. To this day I still get called Ass-turd sometimes.

A little but nothing hurtful or traumatizing. My name rhymes with lots of words (Heather), so I'd get "Heather Feather" sometimes. There was one older boy on my block that used to always sing "Heather with the feather, how's the weather? Are your boots leather?"

When I'd say yes,I'd get "can I see your birth certificate?"or,"No,that's not your real name.You just made up a nickname to try to be different."Or the super intelligent "Do you have a sister named moon?".

I hated my name growing up,and constantly got ridiculous comments over it.I do like it better as an adult,because people tend to remember me because my name is different.I wish my mom could have spelled it correctly,though.

I got made fun of in elementary school alot, especially during the holidays. My name is Holly. When we would sing "deck the halls, kids would turn and scream...with boughs of HOLLY" and point at me! I also got "holly? like the bush?

I like my name more now as an adult, however, I do think it ages me!! Holly is an 80's name IMO.
