My mom has shingles question about DD visit

My mom found out today she has shingles. My DD and I are supposed to stay with her next  week. I was just wondering if you would stilll go if there is a chance that if your child would get chicken pox. The drs office said since DD was vaccinated she should be okay but my mom can't hold or bathe or anything. I was just wondering if anyone had any advice.

DH got shingles a few months ago and our dr was very confident our kids would not catch anything.  I would def. still go.

Is she on antibiotics or anything?  I think that can make a difference.  How long is it even contagious for?  I guess if your DD has had the vaccine and you have also had chicken pox, then I would probably still go as long as your mom is feeling ok.  That being said I really know next to nothing about shingles.

My youngest had Shingles in January (he'd had the vaccine, but never actual Chicken Pox). My other children were both vaccinated and I had the Chicken Pox myself as a child and none of us came down with Shingles. All that said, I would still go
