Last weekend we got Evan a book on bugs at Costco. He is obsessed with it. Each page has a bunch of bugs in a specific environment and it makes sounds. He is obsessed with it. Last night he started to melt down when it was time to take his bath and he couldn't take it with him. This morning he started to throw a fit when it was time to leave to go to daycare. He kept saying "bug" or "bee-doo" (beetle) for at least 15 minutes in the car.
I'm just happy he is interested in books and learning. I guess I'll learn a lot more about bugs too.
What is your kid's latest obsession?

Re: What is your kid's latest obsession?
LOL Thankfully not bugs! Ick.
He's still really into books and alphabets/writing. We read and read and read. Then we read some more. He also still LOVES the show Super Why -- it's about books! and reading! and alphabets! yippee! haha Other than that we're all about cars, trucks and trains.
Basketballs
Yesterday DH had to work late so I had to pick up C and then we went to take DH his basketball gear for his YMCA game. I didnt have the bag zipped and C immediately saw the basketball and started saying "bah, bah, bah" until I gave it to him. The same thing happens at home, he runs around saying "bah" until he finds a basketball.
DH is so proud!
Not sure if he would be old enough to appreciate it, but the IMAX at Moody Gardens has a great 3-D show on bugs.
Books. Tractors. Cars. Trucks. The moon. JEEPS!
Driving down the freeway having every car, truck, and Jeep pointed out can be wearing. And all Jeeps are greeted with a "Beep-beep!" and then "bye-bye Jeep!"
Avery: Strawberry Shortcake and My Little Pony
Joseph: Vacuums. Still.

How funny, Evan loves vacuums too. We bought him a play one that he likes, but he much rather play with mama's vacuum. I hope he still likes them when he is big enough to use one. Then I can make it into a game and he can clean the living room. :-)

Oh, that is cool. If I thought he would sit through it we would go. At home 5 (maybe 10) minutes is his attention span for TV. I wonder of there are any similar DVDs we could get. I'll check the Discovery website.

We used to think it was funny. Now it is really annoying. We have to hide the vacuum because he will plug it in and use it. Which is cute and all, but I don't want to hear it all the time. The first thing he looks for at anyone's house is the vacuum or other cleaning supplies. When we go to BPaullo's, he skips the toy room and goes to the cleaning closet.

Okay, I can see where that can be a problem. Evan just learned about the hose attachament and is dying to use it. I can just see him sucking up all of my jewelry.

They are also really into scooby doo.
Emily is really into eating, smiling, and waking me up at night!
