One of my coworkers gave me the link to this site, which is incredibly helpful. It might be common knowledge, but I didn't know it existed until she told me about it. It's run by the state of Virginia and lists the results of daycare inspections for in-home care providers and for the bigger facilities. You can see all the violations a place got at each inspection -- some are minor like not having a child's immunization records up to date...some are a little more egregious like the provider not washing her hands after changing a poopy diaper.
Re: Speaking of daycare - VA mommies
I'd love to come, but I'm in Roanoke.
I'm from Roanoke! My family is still there! How long have you been in Roanoke?
We moved here in Feb. 2010. I really like the area, but it seems much more difficult to meet people now that I'm no longer in school and don't work with many young people. But for the most part it's been a good move!
At the bottom on the right....it says reply, quote, contact.....hit contact on my post and you should be able to send a PM!
