  • I've been waiting for this!!

WTH is the big deal with the Missoni for Target thing? First of all, I'm not a fan of Missoni, whether it's sold at Saks or Target. However, it's not Missoni, it's Missoni FOR TARGET, which means it's not the same quality or materials, it's still Target clothes, it just has squiggles on it and says Missoni. I'm not knocking Target clothes at all (I'm a frequent Targeter myself), but it is what it is, it's not like shopping designer stuff. Do people think they're getting the same stuff that they sell at the pricey stores for Target prices? Friends on FB have been posting and going nuts over the stuff, even getting in line at 6 am the day they went on sale?!?

  • Although I have told my friend that it does not bother me she is dating my ex boyfriend. It kind of does. For so many reasons...two of which it is weird to see them together and see how loving he is toward her when he never was to me...and every reason we broke up...he has changed for her. Second is because my DH won't hang out with them together because its weird for him which I understand.

But really the major part of why I dislike it is because he is pulling the same crap with her that he did with me (he was not a good boyfriend) He wants to blame him being in the war for why he acts the way he does. He is hurting my friend...and she is hurting herself because of what he does (drinking until drunk every day and she has kids to think about) and even though she knows what he was like because he did it to me...she still goes back to him...its frustrating.

It just makes me mad and I want to go up to her and tell her how stupid she is for going back, and go up to him and punch him and tell him to stop being such an a**hole.

I don't think it's morbid at all -- I think it's an important milestone! I was lying in bed the other night and I suddenly realized that 24 week mark was coming up, and it was really comforting. Yay! for viability.

Exactly!  I had never even heard of it before.  Definitely, not worth crashing their site over and making it difficult for us and our friends to work with our registries.  Stupid Target.  I know I should have heeded the warnings of Target's registry , but here I am. Embarrassed

  • People who stand on street corners in my city with signs that say, "Out of work, need money". PLEASE! Every single place in my town is hiring right now. Taco Johns is offering $15/hr, McDonald's is offering $9 for pete's sake, you can make $15 delivering pizza + tips! I understand that sometimes a person just can't get hired, but they need to at least try.

Also, if you are standing on that street corner and you have a dog...I dislike you even more. If you can't feed yourself, you probably can't feed the dog and you should give it away.

  • I hate visiting DH's family. They seriously sleep the whole time we are there. We sit on the couch..while they sleep. #1 I don't understand how people can sleep so much and #2 I don't see the point in going over there. We drive 4 1/2 hours..just to be bored out of our minds! but I could never tell DH I hate going because it would hurt his feelings.

  • I hate modern baby names and the totally ridiculous spellings that come along with them. Seriously, people, you're setting your kid up for a lifetime of misspelling and mispronunciation just so you can be "different."

I lifted my own suitcase into the trunk this morning even though it was close to 30 pounds, but DH was so exhausted that I couldn't bear to wake him.

I don't judge people for having A drink while pregnant. I'll have a sip now and then and don't feel bad.

The majority of the women on the Baby Showers board are EVIL. They have no tolerance and are very rude with their opinions.

And I agree about celebrating your viability day! I almost lost my pregnancy TWICE early on, and knowing that I might be able to actually have my son look into my eyes and see me is a great comfort. People who say, "How can you celebrate it when it can create so many problems for the child?" infuriate me. As if I wouldn't love the child no matter what. LO could come out with SO many health problems even at full term - that is the risk you take any time you have a child. Do I want my child to be born early? Of course not. But I will love him regardless if that happens.

  • It annoys me when people scold me for lifting heavy things.  I am an adult and I can make my own decisions about what I can and cannot lift.  A 10lb. limit is not only ridiculous, but so outdated and not even a real standard anymore.  I am getting sick of the old biddies at my work scolding me every time I pick up a box of books.  Thanks for the concern, but the 20lb. dumbbells I was using this morning for shoulder presses were heavier so just mind your own damn business and trust that when I need to stop lifting heavier things I will.

Someone else's screaming brat in public? Not my problem, I don't care. Girls dressing like hookers with their boobs hanging out and their thong showing? Their business. Boys with their pants around their knees and their boxers out for all to see? Hopefully they are clean Stick out tongue. I have just seen so much lately about things that annoy people, and I have come to the conclusion that I am really strange!

This. I love most of my coworkers, but when I get asked if I can handle something that is about 15 pounds, it grates on me. My Dr gave me a limit of 25lbs, and I know when something is too heavy for me. Also, the restriction of me not going on a ladder at work is starting to get irritating. I understand the silver ladders we have, but the blue ones that are like steps have a hand rail. AND I wouldn't be getting anything heavy down when I'm on it!

I LOVE the idea of asking guests to bring their favorite childhood books (or the books they read to their children).  We did this for my friend's shower that I hosted, and I never thought there was anything wrong with it until I visited the baby shower board.  She got a ton of amazing books...many of them with the corresponding stuffed animals (like a stuffed Wocket and a stuffed caterpillar).

I think it's fine as long as it's made clear that it's optional and that a gift is not required along with the books. Good childrens books are AT LEAST $10 and sometimes $15-$20 and I'd def. take that out of what I'd spend on a gift if the book was "required".

  • I've been eating fast food, chips, and take out for most of this pregnancy.  I get variety in my foods by going to different restaurants every day, but with DH being kitchen inept and me being unable to be around raw meat without gagging, it's either easy junk food or nothing.  And I've been gaining only a minimum amount of what I should (I was overweight before), and baby has been healthy on all the ultrasounds and blood tests.  I'll do what I have to in order to eat, even if it would make some boards shake their fingers at me!

Oh, and I've had coffee yesterday and today, and I plan to tomorrow as well. :P

  • I have another one but it's mostly a complaint because I have no one else to complain to right now lol. I woke up this morning and our water was shut off..it is STILL shut off and I haven't been able to shower, so I feel disgusting. I had to use my water that I had in our room in case I got thirsty during the night to brush my teeth. All because the sewage backed up on the downstairs floor of the building..for the 3rd time since we moved in (in May) and it smells horrible!

OMG Me too (I was actually going to write this but you beat me to it)!  This is my first and while I am over the moon to be having this baby, January cannot come soon enough.  I am tired of hurting, having no memory, not being able to take my migraine meds etc.  Don't get me wrong, I think it is worth it but ohh I am tired of it.

That being said I would rather this baby come late than really early.

Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • This is more of a vent but I HATE it when I say "I'm tired" and someone responds with "you think you?re tired now.... just wait."  Yes I know having a baby will be beyond exhausting but that does not negate the fact that I am tired NOW.  If I got 5 hours of sleep and you got 4 are we both not tired?  Does the level of tiredness need to be a competition?

Also I hate when people say ?Well (I/ my LO/ parents/ past civilizations/ etc) did XY and Z and they are fine so I don?t see why I (can?t/ should/ shouldn?t).  Other people surviving/ not getting harmed by something is not a valid reason for why it is okay.  Some people don?t wear seatbelts, smoke a pack a day and never got a vaccination in their life and are fine.  Others are not so lucky.  There are plenty of valid reasons to do or not so something but it being okay for some people sometimes is not one of them.

  • I hate posts about eating a "forbidden" food or drink.  Most of these women haven't talked to their doctors about food restrictions and are relying on this board or other internet sites.  IMO, is not a good idea.  Everyone is different and we are not doctors.  Plus every response is "call your doctor".  I don't think eating a turkey sandwich or drinking a cup of coffee is going to hurt, but then I asked my doctor and she gave me the okay.

I've been to baby showers that they asked for books and it was so cute! and seriously all you're going to do with the card to throw it out eventually.  A book you can always have.  On a side note- When I was pregnant with my first son I was coaching the JV softball time at the school I work at.  As an end of the season gift the girls each got the baby the book that they loved most when they were younger.  They even wrote him a little message.  It was seriously the most thoughtful thing.

When I pick him up he usually has food on his face because she doesn't want to be "mean" and wipe him off. Yes he throws a fit when you wipe his face, he is one, that is what they do but why the crap would you think it's okay to let him walk around with dried food on his face? When she changes his poopy diapers there is usually a little poop left on his butt, why? I have no freaking clue, I don't know how it's possible to not wipe all of the poop off, it's clearly visible. And to top it off the entire 6 hours he is with her I am pretty sure she lets him watch T.V. not that he sits in front of it for the entire time but it's on and when I come in she's says "he just loves watching Barney, SS ect...." I say "yes, he probably does since he doesn't get more than a half hour when he's with me." Ahhhhhhhhhh, I just want to scream, I know it's not going to kill him, I know this but to me these are just common sense things.

Oh and when I walked in today he was "helping" mop the floor, and by helping she was letting him play in the the bucket of dirty water filled with Lysol. I stopped the puck there and told her that he should not be playing with cleaning products....how the he!l did my husband survive his childhood? Okay I just needed to vent.

  • There are times when I am able to get out of the house without my children. Of course, these are always the times when I get the comments about having a baby, I do look pretty young and I guess most people assume this is my first baby but I will go buy something and the cashier will start talking about their infant and give me advice...they are being nice but I usually kindly tell them I have a 4 and a 2yo and then they feel kind of weird. I'm not trying to be rude or anything but a lot of the time, I have more parental experience than the people trying to give me advice. I just chuckle and go on my way.

I also always feel like I come across as a teen mom sometimes. Now that I have 2 kids and I am pg, I feel like I get these crazy looks like someone thinks I have no idea what BC is. Oh well.
