Having trouble switching to level 2 nipple

LO is 4mths old and starting to drink slower and fall asleep while eating.  DH thinks it is time for LO to move up to the level 2 nipple.  So today I tried it with 3 of his bottles.  It actually took longer to feed him those 3 bottles because he kept crying when I would sit him up and he was spitting out the bottle.  I am thinking he is just not use to the milk coming out faster.  He wasn't choking on it. 

Should I keep trying with the level 2 nipples tomorrow and see if he gets use to it or should I switch back and wait a few more weeks?  It was awful today.  And he was super crankly all afternoon as well.    I think I would rather a slow drinking, sleeping baby then a fast drinking crank-pot.  But if he is going to get use to it then I guess I should keep trying.  So, what have your experiences been?

Ds#1 never got the hang of the faster flow - after about a week of trying we went back to the level 1 nipples and used those until he was off bottles. Honestly, it wasn't really an issue as the months went on because he was eating more solids and taking less formula.

We're going to try level 2s with ds#2 in the next week or so and we'll see how that goes!

Sophie had trouble with the level 2 nipples at first.  It took us a few days, but now she drinks from them like a pro.  Keep trying!  :-)

We tried to switch to level 2 nipples and DD kept collapsing it. Which I find odd since the usually advice for a collapsing nipple is to switch to a faster flow but the faster flow are the ones that collapse, she does fine with lever 1s. So we switched back and haven't had any problems.

Logan keeps biting on it while drinking.  I am thinking to stop the flow.  He doesn't do that with the level 1 nipples. He will just stop sucking if he needs a break.  And he is able to drink in his dream-like state with the level 1 nipples.

Level 2 didn't work for us either. She was fine for about a day and then was pissy at each feed. We eventually went back to level one and will stay there!

I feel so much better that other babies can't handle the faster flow nipples as well.  He didn't even want to finish the bottles with the faster flow nipples.  It was so awful.  I think I will switch back and try again in a few weeks.  I don't want to go through a cranky feeding first thing in the morning.

I never switched my girl's to bigger nipples.  I always left them on stage 1.  They both had problems with spitting up, and it seemed to help.
