RP: CDing Moms, Help?

I'm reposting this from the cd board.

So we've been using cds and cloth wipes for a few months now, and things were going great. Recently, I got a little lazy and didnt do wash one night so we ran out of wipes and had to resort to disposables (the sames ones we used on DD before switching to cloth). Since then shes had a bright red rash all over, and its felt rough. We got some cd safe diaper cream and have been using that, which seems to be helping slightly. Dh said today that it seems to concentrated around where her grovia diapers sit on her thighs, and the sewn in liner sits on her lower abdomen. They aren't on too tight, I can easily fit two fingers in the leg holes.

Any ideas? It doesn't seem to be causing much discomfort, although it looks really uncomfortable. I dunno if its the wipes or diapers, or what. TIA

Edit: Her four month pedi appt is on Mon, so I'll be asking about it then too. Just looking for some help until then.

Give her some naked baby time. Lay down something waterproof, or just put a towel on some lino and let the air hit her butt for a while (as long as you can, as often as you can).

I would go back to using the cloth wipes and just water as a cleaning solution. Also lots of bare-bum time! Good luck

We do the bare booty time for a little bit every change and for a 15-30mij play session on her mat every day. I've switched back to the cloth wipes, and out solution which is mostly water with dome baby wash and baby oil.

Go way EASY on the oil on your wipes solution. I kind of feel like you may have a build up issue.  Cd safe cream? Which one? No liner? And what detergent?

Also, could she be outgrowing the dipes?

We just developed this problem as well in exactly the same spot- not where I expect a normal diaper rash. We've been using disposable wipes from the beginning and she has previously come in and out of disposable dipes as well. We stripped the CDs and spent a weekend in diaper cream with disposables and it got a little better. The only thing that changed is that I was noticing some dry skin around her thighs like it was rubbing her too much so I adjusted the CD (we have one size with snaps). I'm thinking it's a sizing issue, but I can't quite figure out what 'setting' it needs to be on to make it tight enough to prevent leaks and not so loose that it rubs too much. Can you adjust yours and see if that helps?

Whenever D has a problem I switch to sposies for a day or two and use some Desitin and it's gone and we go back to CDs again.

The solution is mostly water with a little bit of the other two. California Baby cream, no liners, RnG detergent.

I just bought some prefolds, so I'm planning on putting those on as much as possible. Dh cant handle them though, lol.
