Does anyone know anything about the Primrose Schools? DH and I toured one today and were very impressed. DS1 is scheduled to start on Oct. 3. Just wondering if anyone knows anyone or has feedback about a Primrose School.
I had always thought they were good. However, the only actual account I have heard from someone that has been there was not very good. It's been a while, but it was one of those friend of a friend stories. It was a co-worker's daughter who went to pick her baby at an unexpected time and didn't like what she saw.
I don't think you can generalize the schools though. You probably need to unexpectedly drop in on the one you are looking to send your LO.
any chain can vary GREATLY between centers- so what one person says about theirs might not pertain to yours.... I used to work as a sub for a daycare chain and was at several of their locations... some were totally disgusting- some were amazing and wonderful.
I used to be Goldie_locks_5 but the new nest is so screwed up that I was forced to start over.
My kids go to one, and we're happy with it. It's one of the best places in the area. Each one is individually owned and operated, you need to look at it and decide if it is managed well and the staff is good.

Thanks for the feedback! I've spoken with other Primrose parents and they all have nothing but good things to say about the center we will send DS1 to. Just trying to get as many opinions as I can!

This. Management really can make all the difference. When DS started, the mgmt. wasn't bad per se, just somewhat uninvolved (I guess would be the best word). When the new owner purchased DS's Primrose, she brought along a new management team and they are so much better at letting parents know what's going on (newsletters, emails, etc) and I have noticed a much more positive shift in the teachers as well. Again, it wasn't bad before, just ho-hum. There really wasn't a lot of teacher turnover (thankfully). We have been very happy with Primrose. DS goes PT (3 days per week) and has been for over a year. Before starting him officially, they allowed us to do a practice day, where I just took him for the morning so he could get used to it (and I could too).

They will vary a lot by location like PPs said, but we have our daughter at one and we love it! When we were looking for daycares, this was the only one I walked out of feeling completely comfortable about leaving her in. In fact, I felt like she would get MORE out of it than she would at home with me, which is how I knew it was the right choice!
All the curriculum for babies cracks me up. Yesterday we picked her up and the teachers told me how intently she listened during story time and showed us the books she "read", And we have a CD with all these instructions to listen to it multiple times a week and do all these activities with her to spur musical aptitude. Haha!
My husband works across the street and has dropped in on her a few times during the day. She's always happy and being loved on. We couldn't ask for more!
