3rd Trimester

nursing tanks

I have looked just about everywhere for a decent priced nursing tank that will fit the girls.  I am a 42DD now and can only imagine I will need more room than that soon.  I am due Nov. 1.  I don't want to buy bras till my milk comes in but I would like to get at least 2 tanks to start with.  Any good recs for larger than normal nursing tanks.

Re: nursing tanks

  • I'm a 38 DD and I just bought a larger nursing tank. It works and there is still room to grow into. Go into your local maternity shop and ask them for fitting help. I know all the girls at ours can size you and make sure you're buying the right size.

  • I am nowhere near your size but I bought my nursing tanks at WalMart for 11.99 each. I got Mediums b/c I didn't know what size to get. I am usually a small in shirts but I want them to be comfy,

  • I'm a DD (used to be 34D, but use the bra extenders so have no idea of the number these days) and I got a Glamourmom tank for $39. I got XL and there's a little big of room in the chest for my milk to come in. On the website, they do have an XXL that's worth trying. I have heard mixed reviews on these tanks, but it holds me up fine from trying it on. Obviously haven't actually used it, though. I will buy more after the baby comes.

  • I was an H cup while nursing and the Target ones were stretchy enough for me.  I am not as big in the band size as you though.

  • Thanks!  W/ the glamour mom tank do you feel like you are pretty well supported.  My boobs are huge, no surprise there, and I want to make sure there is some support w/o being too constricting.
  • Madhatter, I have to go to Target tonight so I will try them on.  Do they seem supportive enough?
  • I found mine at Target. I was a 34c/d before i got preg. Now i'm a 36D, I wonder if you could find bigger sizes online at target.com?

I feel really supported, and I NEVER feel comfortable without a bra. Having said that,  some of the reviews have stated some women did not feel supported so I went to a place that carried them and tried them on for myself. If I want more, I'll just order them from glamourmom.com.  I only bought one because I want to be sure it supports me for more than a couple hours, ya know?

  • They were good enough for around the house and sleeping for me. I never really wore them out unless it was cold and I could layer....but I'm not the type to wear just a tank out in public anyway  ;-)
