2nd row SUV question

If you have a SUV do you have captain chairs or a bench seat in the 2nd row?  We are looking at an 11' Durango but it only comes with the bench option.  I'm nervous that down the road when we have #2 that I'll regret not having the 2 seats and convenience of the walk through space.

We have a 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee.  We have a bench seat and it's not very big but our overall SUV isn't very big so I guess that makes sense.  We are probably going to get a minivan within the next 6 months so we have more seating and I am definitely going to look into captains chairs for the 2nd row.  But that being said, I think if the 2nd row is big enough (ie, wide enough, deep enough) I probably wouldn't be bothered by not having a way to get to the back.

We have an '03 Toyota Sequoia. The 2nd and 3rd rows are benches. We just recently put DS1 in the way back (they used to sit right next to each other in the 2nd row, but kept hitting each other). The 2nd row splits 60/40 so it's easy to fold down the 40% side and seat DS1 in the seat right behind it. So far, so good and no more hitting!

I have a Chevy Traverse & love having the captains chairs then bench. Keeps DD2 safe from DD1

We had a 09 ford Explorer with the 3rd row option.  We only have DS right now.  We had the second row bench seat, and his infant seat barely fit in the car. The passenger seat had to be all the way forward and you had to sit directly straight up. It was terrible. When we found out we were pregnant we traded in my 06 F-150 extended cab, thinking an suv would have more room. Wrong. The 3rd was ok. Hard to get to, but great when my neice and nephew came to visit, their booster seats fit awesome in the 3rd row, but as for an average size adult, there was no way you'd ever fit.  we recently traded in our 09 Ford explorer for a 08 F-250 4 door, and its been great!!!  My DS fits awesome, with tons of extra space.  Of course now I miss the extra space for all our junk, and grocery shopping...I'm sorry, but I just refuse to drive a van. lol

I have a yukon xl, and have the captain chairs. We looked at a suburban with a bench seat at the same time. And I am SOOOOO glad that we got the yukon with the captain chairs. I would have hated the bench for as many times as we use the third row seats, which isn't even all that often yet.

We have captain seats for our second row.  I love it because they are easy to put down if I need to get to the 3rd row.  I grew up with a bench seat and it was a pain.  My suggestion see if they have one with a bench seat and try it out a few times and see if you prefer that.
