DS is sleeping for the second time EVER in his crib right now (first time was earlier this evening). It was the first time ever I put him down by not going down straight off the boob. He gave a couple of little sighs, I rubbed his belly, and he fell asleep. 

Fingers. Crossed.

(And I know, I have impeccable timing, right? I came on here to post this and saw all of the CIO drama from earlier. Bah!)

Good luck! I'm praying for another night like last night - LO only woke up a 3 and 7, and went back into his crib in between. I would be perfectly happy with that for a long time if he'd make it a habit.

We are thinking about trying the cribs for the first time this weekend. They sleep in their daycare cribs fine so hopefully they'll adjust...

Thanks! It went better than I could have expected!

He slept for 4 hours, then after feeding and changing at 1:30am he had a period where he was hesitant to go back down. No tears, just fussing, and I just kept standing over him and patting his belly. He kept waking up and being like "oh, you're here, ok" and falling asleep. At 3am he slept for good and got up at 7:30.

Awesome.

I feel liberated. I know it was only one night, but this gives me hope. Up until now, he has only slept in his infant swing or on my lap. I can get things done now!

Good luck to all of you trying to transition to the crib! Up until yesterday, I thought it would be near impossible or involve a lot of crying. I guess my DS was just ready for the switch.
