South Florida Babies

14 weeks and BIG

Ladies,

They say baby is the size of a lemon now, however I feel that my sweet pea is the size of a small melon! I would imagine that every pregnancy is different but co-workers and onlookers have the opinion that I look "much bigger" than 14 weeks. I was small to begin with (pre-preggo 125 lbs and 5'6) so maybe that has something to do with it? I have put on about 5 lbs but eating very healthy and exercising (mild-moderate) daily. Should there be any concern?

  • I too am in a similar situation. Don't fret about size as other organs get "redistributed" so to speak. As long as you continue your f/u visits, should be fine.

  • Dont worry. The same thing is happening to me and Im also petite (so maybe it does have to do with it:)

I started showing at 12 weeks and by 14 weeks was much bigger than what people expected lol

Now Im 22 weeks and have a nice round bump (which Im very proud of :)

Baby is growing perfectly and OB is not worried.

dont stress about it as long as ur OB isnt. Enjoy your baby bump !

  • Just like others above had said if your doctor isn't concerned you shouldn't be either.  Every person grows at different rates also, and usually women with shorter torsos pop out a little sooner.  I always show quickly and I am big.
