TTC #2 but no AF yet

I was wondering if any of you ladies are or were in the same boat as I am. DD is still breastfeeding and because of that I haven't got my period, I really want to start tying but don't how to go about it since I don't have a cycle yet. I know I just probably need to wait for AF to show up, I'm just getting antsy. I don't think I've ever wanted AF to show up this bad before lol. If you have any help for me I would be so appreciative of it!

 I asked this on the breastfeeding board and thought it would be a good idea to ask over here as well.

I'm not 2u2, mine will be 2y9m when #2 arrives, but I stopped the mini pill when she was 11-12 months and didn't have my first postpartum period until she as 16months.  I wasn't willing to wean to TTC though, she weaned the week of her 2nd BD, the week of this pregnancies LMP.  Everyone is different, and this late in the game you may ovulate before your first period.... but if you really want to TTC you may have to make a change to your breastfeeding routine.

My boys will be 25 months apart, but in order to have them close together, I had to wean DS at 15 mos. It was a hard decision, but I never had AF return, even after cutting down to 1 nursing session a day. My desire to have them close won over my desire to nurse until the age of 2. 

2 weeks after weaning, I got AF back. Cycles were irregular, but I continued BBT charting and took vitamin B6 to lengthen my luteal phase. 2 cycles later and we were pregnant.

I felt that I would be one of those women who needed to wean in order to conceive. I hope it's easier next time.

I never got my period back after BF and then i got pregnant again.

I got my first AF at 9months postpartum and got pregnant that first cycle.  I would just try to increase the solids that your LO is getting and maybe start cutting down on BFing a little bit.  I had dropped down to only pumping once a day around the time that AF returned.  Also some women get pregnant again before AF shows up.

My boys are 21 months apart and my last period was Dec 2008, before I got pregnant with my first.  I BF and never got my period, got pregnant with number two, and am currently BF him.

AF didn't arrive for me until over a month after I stopped BFing DS. But we got KU the first try (after I got my first AF and knew to check for ovulation)! Vs. taking 7 months with DS!
